Indebted nations have been forced to reduce their spending on health and education. In many of the countries in which the World Bank and IMF of work, people must now pay for these services. The results are catastrophic. In Kenya for example, one of the country's worst affected by AIDs, the number of women seeking help or advice on sexually transmitted diseases declined by 65% following the introduction of fees.
